Fashion Designer — Gilles Montezin

Gilles Montezin shines in 2008 as designer for movies "Sex and the City" (May '08) and "Confessions of a Shopaholic" (spring '09). He was recently commissioned by Saks for inaugural gowns and by famed Kleinfeld Bridal, featured on TLC's show, "Say Yes to the Dress."

A native of France, Gilles received his primary training at l’Ecole de la Haute Couture in Paris. After completing his studies, he went to work for the Opera Bastille, where he perfected techniques for the elaborate period costuming that contribute to his craft. At the same time, he worked for both Loris Azzaro and Christian LaCroix Haute Couture and ended up remaining at Maison LaCroix for eight years. While in Paris, Gilles Montezin was able to complete designs for Madonna and actresses Catherine Zeta-Jones and Monica Bellucci.

Mr. Montezin reveals, "It's all about fabric, I play and I pin and I figure out what the fabric wants to do." He has a developed talent for creating beautiful pieces, with volume and elegance that can benefit every woman.

In 2004 he moved to New York to start his own collection. Since that time, the French designer has had pieces filmed in productions of All My Children, Guiding Light, and on a recent Barbara Walters special. His clothes have been featured in Social Life, ELLE Sweden, and OK magazines.

Clients he has dressed include Sarah Jessica Parker, Kim Cattrall, Carmen Dell'Orefice, Mary Tyler Moore, Andrea Mitchell, and Debra Messing.
