Fashion Designer — Kristin Hassan

Kristin Rosynek Hassan received a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Fashion Design from the Illinois Institute of Art – Chicago in June of 2006. She was just one awkwardly dressed designer hopeful among hundreds of the creative beings in the heart of the city. While Chicago often grooms the talent of many designers, quite a number have chosen not to anchor their success there. Hassan very consciously answered the question "should I stay or should I go?" early on by seeking new cultural diversity influences and experiences and translating them into her perspective and line development. Her decision to intern in Chicago with local designer Lara Miller was both a prequisite in completing her degree as well as a needed task to continue her drive to achieve her own success. Hassan would not abandon the city that had raised her, that had paved her way; a culture that formulated her perspective and would eventually enrich her creativeness for her first line. More important, Lara's success was an excellent opportunity to analyze and sharpen Hassan's educational skills and knowledge which needed to leave the classroom and experience reality.

While attending college, Hassan's freelance career blossomed, sending her from New York to Guatemala. Hassan developed a strong background by guiding other apparel companies in everything from design to sourcing and production. Loving the world travel and interaction with a variety of products, but still feeling the entrepreneurial urge, Hassan launched organiK Revolution. In March of 2008, Hassan was acknowledged as a local rising talent and is currently working as a designer in residence in the Chicago Fashion Incubator at Macy's on State.

Hassan currently resides in Orland Park, IL, with her husband, Ramzi, and puppy, Maxwell.
